Well, unpopular opinion here.. but I don't make new years resolutions.
No shade to you if you do.. but me personally, I've found they don't work all that great.
Here's why.
1) EVERYONE AND THEIR DOG
Everyone else is busy trying to get into better shape, taking up a new hobby, and creating MASSIVE change because the date switched from 2019 to 2020.. it makes no sense to me. Gyms get crowded.. things I've been doing for months or years are overpopulated for about 30 days, and it's annoying.
2) Massive change creates failure.
Not all the time.. but usually, when you try to change too many things at once... you won't see it out. Example.. you never go to the gym.. 2020 hits and BAM you tell yourself you're gunna go to the gym 5 days a week. Boom.. you hurt your body, and take a rest day which turns into a rest week, then a rest month.. and we will see you in 2021.
3) Why Wait?
If you want to make change make change NOW. Don't wait till a new year, a new week, or a new year. Start literally right now. Yup. This exact moment. You want to be more in shape, go to the gym, can't go to a gym, drop and do 10 push ups. You want to be more healthy, put down the bag of chips or the cookie. Make change now.
So.. you want to make a change... YAY! That should be celebrated and told. Tell your people, tell your instagram, make a youtube video, I don't care how you do it, just TELL people.
The more people know the more accountability you have on your shoulders.
Then, start. Right now. Burn your excuses to the ground.
Stop watching netflix, stop binge eating, stop whatever it is you are ALLOWING to get in the way of your change.
Then GO
Go go go go, run with it. Don't listen to people, don't listen to the bully voice inside your head. KEEP MOVING. Keep going and don't you dare quit. Make the change by making small habits that you are in control of. Don't let life, or any human tell you otherwise.
